Speaking Topics and FAQs

Thank you for your interest in inviting Dr. Natasha Sistrunk Robinson to speak at your upcoming event.

Begin the speaking process by completing the Book Dr. Natasha “Request Form.

Someone from our team will respond to your request within 10 business days. Please also review these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) before completing the request form to assist in your planning and to ensure the best preparation and responses.

  • Dr. Natasha is a social entrepreneur, and speaking is one of the sources of income she uses to support her businesses, support staff, nonprofit work, and family. The speaker and host will agree upon an honorarium, and that amount will be paid as a 20% deposit at contract signing and the remaining 80% onsite prior to the speaker's event.

In addition to the honorarium, organizations must be prepared to cover all speaker expenses, including transportation, lodging, and per diem and/or meals for the speaker and a traveling companion. Additionally, the host agrees to purchase the speaker’s book(s) and make them available for sale at the event.

Therefore, the host’s expenses will include:

    • Speaker honorarium.

    • Comfort Plus round trip flights with Delta Airlines. Host is responsible for booking.

    • Ground transportation for the duration of the trip. Host is responsible for arranging ground transportation, including the speaker and companion’s airport pick-up and drop-off.

    • Hotel accommodations with Wi-Fi for the duration of the trip. Host is responsible for making hotel accommodations for the speaker and companion.

    • Per diem and/or meals for the duration of the trip.

    • Speaker’s books made available to audience members for sale or purchase. Host must order books at least 30 days before the event and make preparations (ex., volunteers or staff) for the sale of the author’s books.

    • Companion travel expenses, including flights, ground transportation, hotel room, and meals.

  • Dr. Natasha is building a credible career as a writer. Selling books online has become increasingly difficult for authors. Increasing book sales, especially through bulk orders and online book reviews, ensures that Dr. Natasha can continue writing about important topics and contributing to the field. Dr. Natasha wants to continually support event attendees in their desire to live and lead on purpose. The host can support their targeted audience by equipping them to engage in Dr. Natasha’s written work beyond their one-time experience.

As a lover of books and bookstores, a small business owner who longs to support other local small businesses, and a Black woman who believes in equity and justice, Dr. Natasha asks that the host first seek to purchase her book(s) from a local independent bookstore and, if possible, consider supporting one owned by a Black Indigenous Woman of Color.

All books should be purchased at least 30 days before the event, and confirmation should be emailed to bookings@NatashaSRobinson.com

  • If your event is open to the public, Dr. Natasha is pleased to promote it on her website, social media, and Substack newsletter. Please email event marketing information to bookings@NatashaSRobinson.com

Local outreach is very important for the success of your event, so we recommend promoting your event early and often and encouraging as many community leaders as possible to participate and share your event. Such early efforts will ensure your event’s success, open doors of opportunity for co-sponsorship of the event, unite the community, increase the diversity of your audience, and lay the necessary groundwork to continue local conversations and efforts beyond the event. Event promotion may include:

    • Email blasts

    • Passing out flyers at local gatherings

    • Placing ads or announcements in local newspapers

    • Publicizing the event through social media

    • Equipping supporters to use text messaging or the tried and true efforts of word-of-mouth to promote the event

It’s important to make local outreach an intentional part of your event planning. To assist with costs and accountability, you might also consider hosting a ticketed event, which includes purchasing the author’s book for the event.

  • That’s a fair question. The first time Dr. Natasha gave a “big” speech to an audience of approximately 1,500 attendees was during her high school graduation. She received two standing ovations, and there weren't many dry eyes in the house. Dr. Natasha’s professional development training at the United States Naval Academy, along with numerous speaking engagements to diverse audiences while serving as an officer in the Marine Corps, has equipped her to connect with people and present critical information in a practical way. While attending seminary, she continued to hone her critical thinking, teaching, and lecturing skills. She learned the importance of teaching and presenting the Bible with integrity and in the proper context. Dr. Natasha normally customizes her speaking topics for each audience. Bottom line, she is an incredible speaker who will deeply move your audience. You can visit her speaking playlist or subscribe to her YouTube channel to see for yourself.

  • Dr. Natasha is a passionate and well-informed communicator who uses her story and social location to speak about the important topics of leadership, faith, and culture. She believes that truth-telling has become a lost value in the United States, so she adamantly seeks to Tell The Truth, and given her love of God and neighbors, she does so with a smile.

  • Dr. Natasha has diverse leadership and mentorship experiences in the military, federal government, nonprofit, academic, and religious sectors. She has had numerous positive experiences speaking with intergenerational and multiethnic audiences domestically and abroad. She regularly provides leadership executive coaching to men and women in the corporate sector. Her speaking engagements have included university or seminary lectures, keynote speaking at conferences, workshop facilitation, seminar presentations, panel discussions, leadership training, and hosting retreats. Dr. Natasha does it all!

Through her nonprofit work and community service, she has significant experience speaking with and influencing high school students, college students, and young adults nationwide about the importance of education, leadership, mentorship, character building, and making good life choices. Dr. Natasha is passionate about raising up the next generation of leaders.

  • Dr. Natasha is a lifelong learner who reads extensively. She likes meeting new people and exploring the places that she visits. She loves eating well, and fun for her includes a spa day, movies, theater, live music, dancing, and quality time with family and friends. Dr. Natasha thinks humans are interesting, and participating in events like yours allows her to listen, observe, and engage people in important and sometimes life-changing conversations. Aside from loving and caring for her family, the most important and sacrificial work Dr. Natasha pursues is to love Christ Jesus more fully and to love her neighbors more deeply.
